Competition, consumption and venture capital

Region in Focus research complements our existing Mobile Economy reports and provides targeted analysis and insight on telecoms and broader TMT market trends in a given region and key countries within it. This includes financial performance, technology developments, and underlying macroeconomic and regulatory issues.

This edition focuses on the Asia Pacific region, and how advancements in infrastructure have helped it become the most improved region in our global Mobile Connectivity Index. We include market analysis for Japan, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, where competition, data consumption levels and venture capital are all proving interesting dynamics. We also examine how there is significant variation in the speed at which 5G is expected to develop across the region, and look behind the data to show how half the population are covered by a mobile broadband network but don't subscribe to the mobile internet.
