The Caribbean is entering a pivotal phase in its digital development, where widespread connectivity is increasingly being translated into broader digital transformation. In 2025, mobile technologies and services generated 8.1% of GDP in the Caribbean, equivalent to $21 billion in economic value added. Most of this impact came from productivity gains, which accounted for $14 billion, underlining the role of mobile in improving efficiency across sectors. The direct contribution of the mobile ecosystem accounted for a further $6 billion. The mobile ecosystem also plays an important role in employment, supporting around 170,000 jobs in 2025.
Beyond connectivity, the mobile industry is also enabling digital transformation through the integration of technologies such as 5G, IoT and AI into business processes and public services.
