As part of our work to not only collect data, but provide the architecture and platform to allow others to draw on those data sets, we are very proud to announce our latest collaboration with the GSMA's Development Fund.
Green Power for Mobile (GPM) is a branch of the initiative that aims to help mobile operators extend network coverage, reduce operating expenditure and minimise environmental impact through the use of renewable energy sources.
Supporting the recently announced European Mobile Manifesto, GSMA Intelligence and GPM are providing a new visualisation tool that tracks green deployment case studies across the globe.
The tool uses the familiar Google Earth interface to visually display and filter networks worldwide, by operator, country or technology. Many case studies additionally cover the financial metrics represented by their deployment.
As with all data on GSMA Intelligence, the information is fully exportable and can be downloaded in Google Earth (KML) or Excel formats. We welcome your feedback on this new tool and the data available.
