Digital gaming is fast evolving as the shift to cloud and mobile continues and emerging technologies change the landscape. This dashboard, based on our December 2023 consumer survey, provides all the relevant data related to gamers’ behaviour, in a consistent and structured way – a valuable asset for companies looking to formulate or adjust their commercial strategies and plans for digital gaming.

The dashboard provides data for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 (drawn from the respective consumer surveys) across eight of the world’s largest mobile markets. A number of filters allows the comparison of data for individual countries and for specific consumer segments (e.g. by age, income, smartphone brand owned, frequency of engagement in gaming by device type and more).

The dashboard covers a broad range of areas, including consumer gaming engagement, the state of smartphone gaming, gaming on consoles and extended reality headsets, free versus paid-for gaming, adoption of gaming subscriptions including cloud gaming, bundling gaming with mobile subscriptions, gaming as a 5G use case, live gaming (including e-sports), gaming as a metaverse activity and generative AI's impact on gaming.
