Contact usThe developer segment is a key channel partner for operators looking to monetise fixed and mobile network APIs with enterprise buyers. Developers have expertise and existing relationships, and may already be embedded in enterprises, which could help break down awareness barriers.
To help understand the developer audience in more detail, GSMA Intelligence surveyed 1,000 developers around the world in mid-2024. The sample was split 50-50 between developers already involved with or interested in working with 5G, and those not. Questions for the developers focused on awareness and use of network APIs, business priorities, target sectors and preferred revenue models. The results form part of the forthcoming GSMA Open Gateway State of the Market report for H2 2024.

How the entitlement server is driving impact for mobile operators
Initially deployed for niche use cases, the entitlement server (ES) has expanded to become the intermediary between mobile network infrastructure and the universe of devices. It authenticates a number of services, including RCS messaging, eSIM, network slices and satellite connectivity. The investment logic for the ES is strengthened by clear cost savings and revenue opportunities post deployment. Operators should consider a strategy for monetisation and identity management based on ES deployment.
