Should China be seen as a global benchmark for enterprise 5G?

This report is available to those subscribed to the IoT & Enterprise module.
GSMA Intelligence has been measuring operator progress on services beyond traditional core telecoms for a number of years. The three major Chinese operators are among the top five performers when it comes to revenue growth of services beyond traditional core telecoms. As an example, for services beyond traditional core telecoms, China Mobile has one of the largest businesses ($18 billion in revenue in 2021) and one of the highest revenue growth rates (33% year on year). Monitoring 5G B2B developments in the Chinese ecosystem provides useful indicators that global mobile operators can use in their enterprise 5G strategies. However, there are important factors that such operators need to bear in mind if using China as a benchmark, which we explore in this report.
