The debate around the need for an updated set of performance indicators for the mobile industry has been ongoing for some time. The rapidly evolving operating environment, with an accelerating migration to a data-intensive and all IP-world, means that there is now a clear opportunity for the industry take the lead in developing a new and more forward-looking narrative. This in turn will need to be supported by new range of operating metrics that better reflect both the current and future outlook for the industry.
Through this report, the GSMA aims to initiate a debate around the development of a new range of industry performance metrics (KPIs). This discussion is initially aimed at key industry executives and stakeholders, starting with chief financial and strategy officers, and then broadening out to the financial community, including both analysts and investors.
