Against a backdrop of growing competition in pay-TV markets, understanding the evolution of consumer behaviour is key for companies looking to formulate or adjust their commercial strategies and plans for video services. This dashboard, based on a consumer survey across eight of the world’s largest pay-TV markets in the world (China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the UK and the US), provides data for consumer video services behaviour, presented in a structured, easy-to-use format.

The dashboard provides data for 2020, 2021 and 2022 (drawn from the respective consumer surveys). Filters allow comparison of data for individual countries and for specific consumer segments (e.g. age, spend on mobile services, mobile network used, frequency of engagement in video services). The dashboard covers a range of topics, including importance of factors when choosing a pay-TV service, reasons for stopping traditional pay-TV subscriptions, most popular online TV subscription services, consumer engagement with digital entertainment on smartphones, frequency of use of mobile data versus Wi-Fi when watching online TV or video on smartphones.
