The advent of mobile 5G services in 2019 brought hopes for renewed growth to operators that were experiencing stagnating revenues from core services for much of the prior decade. The growth story for operators in 2020–2030 is underpinned by the expansion of B2B services and the focus on non-core services for consumers, both of which are enabled by 5G. In this analysis, based on our consumer survey and reported numbers from operators, we look at the value created by 5G services for operators and discuss the untapped monetisation opportunities from consumers.
