5G adoption is proceeding well: by the end of this decade, the share of 5G connections globally is expected to rise to 56%. In contrast, 5G monetisation, especially in the B2C segment, remains an area of concern for operators.

This report examines the findings from the GSMA Intelligence annual consumer survey, including shifting 5G user behaviour and the trends that will shape 5G monetisation. For example, it finds that user satisfaction with the 5G network experience is growing, on average. However, for the most digitally active demographic (the 18–24 age group), the satisfaction level is near unchanged. We discuss the implications of this dynamic and of other important shifts in 5G B2C, and provide recommendations for the relevant ecosystem players.
