MARCH 2020

IoT adoption among enterprises is increasingly seen as part of wider enterprise strategies; around 60% of businesses in our latest survey have deployed an IoT solution as part of a broader digital transformation agenda rather than as a standalone initiative. Attitudes to IoT are shifting too; 52% of surveyed enterprises believe IoT will be transformational to their company and the wider industry, while the average size of deployment is increasing too. These and other findings form part of our IoT in business report for 2020.

In the analysis, we present the results of the GSMA Intelligence IoT Enterprise Survey of almost 2,800 enterprises. We focus on the IoT adoption story among businesses – the drivers, challenges and measures of success for the enterprise IoT sector. If IoT is indeed in business, what is the view from enterprises on adoption one year on, and what are their deployment plans for the future?
