During June–August 2025, GSMA Intelligence surveyed 5,320 enterprises on their digital transformation, focusing on objectives, investments, challenges, supplier decisions and enabling technology such as 5G, private networks, AI, IoT, cloud, edge, cybersecurity, network APIs and 6G. This report analyses the key findings and implications. The accompanying dashboard provides full survey data.

Enterprises will spend 10% of their revenues on digital transformation through to 2030, which brings new B2B opportunities for technology suppliers, including operators. Tailoring B2B strategies is key, as priorities, requirements and budgets differ by country and vertical sector.

These insights can help suppliers of digital transformation technologies enhance their B2B strategies and messaging, improve their competitive position, target new services and markets, and redefine their budget and allocation of resources. For end users of digital transformation technologies, these insights can help enhance benchmarking activities, supplier decisions, services and products and spending decisions.

Digital transformation of enterprises across vertical sectors is accelerating. During 2024-2030, enterprises will spend 10% of their revenues on digital transformation, and this provides new B2B opportunities to technology suppliers, including operators. The rise of digital industries is not one size fits all though. As sectors have different needs and priorities, getting insights directly from enterprises is key to formulate the right B2B strategies and capitalise on the digital transformation opportunity.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are digitising rapidly, but telcos seize only a fraction of the opportunity due to gaps between SME expectations and current offerings. To unlock growth, telcos must simplify integration, make reliability visible, and shift from offering security tools to managed protection, delivering integrated, outcome-oriented solutions.
