With supply-chain disruption and slower device sales, understanding how consumer behaviour regarding devices is changing (and why) is crucial to prepare for the next phase of device innovation and growth. In GSMA Intelligence’s latest consumer survey, conducted in Q4 2022, consumers across eight major countries were asked a range of questions on devices. The survey covered 1,000 consumers in each market.

This dashboard presents the data in a consistent and structured way, providing a valuable asset for companies looking to formulate or adjust their commercial strategies and plans for devices. The dashboard provides data for 2020, 2021 and 2022 (drawn from the respective consumer surveys) for all eight countries. A number of filters allows the comparison of data for individual countries and for specific consumer segments (e.g. by age or smartphone brand owned). The dashboard covers a broad range of areas, including smartphone replacement rate, preferred sales location, smartphone purchase drivers, smartphone brand loyalty, reasons for switching operator, frequency of use of services such as entertainment and gaming, and ownership of mobile devices beyond smartphones.
