Operator strategies for verticals in the 5G era
Released
JULY 2020

The expected incremental revenue from 5G is widely seen as coming from enterprises or B2B customer segments. B2B currently accounts for around 30% of operator revenues on average. That is a significant contribution, but much of it comes from traditional communications services (e.g. connectivity). A new enterprise story is needed in the 5G era to drive future growth – one that targets the digital transformation of industries and enterprises. Getting the capabilities and the business models in place to fully service enterprises will take time, but the journey needs to start now.

The latest survey from GSMA Intelligence examines operator strategies for B2B, including current and future portfolios, which vertical sectors are expected to provide the largest opportunities and the timelines for scale. It also reveals operator views on the key success factors of their approach and their go-to-market strategies.
