IoT professional services is essential for businesses looking to optimise their IoT deployments and strategies. It consistently accounts for more than a quarter of global IoT revenue and serves as a foundation for digital transformation projects. As a result, the IoT professional services market is made up of a handful of multinational groups, such as Accenture and Tata Consulting Group, that are in turn supported by many technical and vertical specialists. Operators are also keen to compete, banking on their ability to pair professional services with connectivity to drive a wider conversation with target customers. However, past experience has shown that operators lack the scale to compete directly with the likes of Accenture. Instead, the opportunity for operators lies in the provision of IoT professional services to small and medium-sized enterprises to lay a foundation for future IoT contract upgrades.
