Fixed broadband connections have seen significant growth globally over the past decade, roughly doubling as home broadband services have further penetrated developing markets and as fibre rollout has boosted service availability and adoption in developed markets.

Against this backdrop, GSMA Intelligence looked at how market shares have changed over the last 10 years and the main drivers. On average across the 36 markets analysed, the No.1 players as of 2013 (in terms of market share of fixed broadband connections) have lost 8 percentage points of market share in the 10 years to 2022. This share has mostly been absorbed by smaller providers outside the top four.
