Connecting the dots: home network visibility can put ISPs in the picture

With consumers buying connected entertainment and smart home devices off-the-shelf and adding them to their home networks themselves, ISPs and consumers alike are facing a number of challenges. Not knowing what is connected to home networks, customer-support centres at ISPs must blindly deal with calls on performance issues. Meanwhile, the lack of security in many devices can expose both the customer's home network and the ISP’s network to cyberattacks. Home network security and internet management solutions can help ISPs better understand their customers' home profiles, tackle customer-support costs and secure their networks. Ultimately, they can help achieve operational costs savings and, by creating a reliable user experience, enable service differentiation and incremental revenue.

Fixing the middle mile in mobile networks: a multi-technology assessment for the 5G era
To aid operators that are evaluating middle-mile transport solutions, GSMA Intelligence has developed the TCO Calculator, based on research and analysis of existing and emerging middle-mile transport solutions across a number of deployment scenarios around the world. The rapid expansion of 5G networks is driving an unprecedented surge in mobile data consumption, which is placing immense pressure on the middle mile. As a result, operators must diversify their product/solution mix for middle-mile transport.
Telco security in Qatar: an asset-driven response – Part 2
As 5G becomes the foundation of Qatar’s digital economy, the importance of securing its networks extends beyond consumer protection to national security and economic stability. This is the second report in a two-part series exploring how Qatar can strengthen cybersecurity resilience in a rapidly evolving 5G landscape. It presents a national 5G threat model and threat matrix designed to help operators and policymakers translate strategic priorities into actionable security measures.
Net neutrality in Latin America: learnings from global experiences in mobile markets
Different approaches to net neutrality regulation serve as a natural experiment, allowing us to empirically assess real-world impacts. We find no evidence of net neutrality regulations increasing internet content diversity or consumer welfare. The lack of clear evidence on the benefits of regulation combined with unintended negative impacts on operators call for a re-evaluation of existing net neutrality regulations.
