Connecting the dots: home network visibility can put ISPs in the picture

Released
JULY 2020

With consumers buying connected entertainment and smart home devices off-the-shelf and adding them to their home networks themselves, ISPs and consumers alike are facing a number of challenges. Not knowing what is connected to home networks, customer-support centres at ISPs must blindly deal with calls on performance issues. Meanwhile, the lack of security in many devices can expose both the customer's home network and the ISP’s network to cyberattacks. Home network security and internet management solutions can help ISPs better understand their customers' home profiles, tackle customer-support costs and secure their networks. Ultimately, they can help achieve operational costs savings and, by creating a reliable user experience, enable service differentiation and incremental revenue.
