Jakub Zagdanski is a Principal Economist at GSMA Intelligence, where he specialises in the economics of mobile connectivity, digital infrastructure, and regulatory policy. He leads research that bridges theoretical economics with real-world telecom policy questions. His areas of expertise include measuring the economic impacts of connectivity and technology, the economics of radio spectrum (including allocation and spectrum cost), and the broader digital policy. He specialises in quantitative methods, from economic modelling and econometrics to estimate causal effects to geospatial analysis for high-resolution insights supporting efficient mobile network deployment. He is also responsible for the GSMA Global Mobile Coverage Maps, a global dataset of current historical coverage maps used by businesses and researchers worldwide.
