5G Blitz Week: Summer edition: 5G manufacturing
Register – Tuesday, 3 August – 13:30 ET
According to findings from our report “Smart manufacturing: 5G engineers the future of IoT” we expect 17% of licensed cellular IoT smart manufacturing connections to be 5G by 2025.
5G offers not only high throughput and ultra reliability, among other benefits, but the evolution of MEC and network slicing has increased the applicability of industrial network solutions at scale and cost effectively. Smart factories have already been using LTE to deploy their own private wireless networks, but the increased capabilities of 5G will build an even stronger proposition for large-scale use cases. Services such as automation, predictive maintenance, asset tracking, supply chain management and much more is only made possible with real time tracking and analysis on-site. The telecommunications ecosystem has found a willing and motivated partner in deploying innovative solutions at the edge to make factories and supply chains smarter, faster and more efficient.
Sylwia Kechiche, Principal Analyst for IoT & Enterprise at GSMA Intelligence, will join Fierce’s 5G Blitz week to moderate an exciting panel of fellow telecoms experts and share insights from our research on how telcos can build profitable partnerships with manufacturing firms and the technical challenges that remain in creating fully automated, safe and reliable networks.
