Aftermarket automotive telematics: driving opportunity beyond connectivity
The US is one of the most advanced markets in terms of adoption of connected vehicles. A growing number of new cars are equipped with factory-fitted mobile connectivity designed to provide safety and security features, as well as infotainment and navigation services. However, embedding connectivity into new vehicles is just one part of the story. Of the 300 million vehicles on the road, new sales each year account for only a small fraction (6%). Aftermarket telematics offers another opportunity: to retrofit connectivity into older vehicles.
